Allan McLennan, Founder, President & Global Market Technologist
Allan McLennan is the Founder, President and Global Market Technologist of the PADEM Advanced Media Group participating in the future of multi-platform media, entertainment, games, advanced advertising, data analytics, video and IP television.
Mr. McLennan has been instrumental in the advancement and understanding of IP delivered content worldwide participating in the creation/innovation, packaged and/or sold multiple new offerings himself throughout the world on 7 continents, in 17 countries in over a billion households, as well as today working with corporations deploying new IP delivered television offerings through OTT, VOD, UEN video distribution networks and mobile connected devices, including as an example today in Asia with REAL Networks with media players on over 1.5 billion devices as well as owning the SmartTV category with 34% of the market in 2016, and has been recognized as one of the most broadly informed and connected people in media, entertainment and technology worldwide, recognized by the UK based global research corporation Informa as one of the "Global Connected 100" in 2014, 2015 & 2016.
Prior to founding PADEM, McLennan was the founding president of Rentrak corporation's (NASDAQ: RENT) AMI/Advanced Media and Information Division, a leading intelligence provider of media usage for the entertainment and television industries. Among his other engagements include Ericsson, Deluxe on-demand, TIVO, Microsoft, Irdeto/NASPERS, SAMSUNG, COMCAST, Edgeware, Universal, Microsoft, Bit Torrent, Disney and AMC/DMC. His participation on executive teams has created and built out as SVP on the first global IP on-demand subscription service (3 million subscribers); EVP for the first advanced residential management STB (MSFT Media Center), first CD-ROM game (Lion King), Founding officer/VP worldwide marketing Worlds Inc. (world's first 3-D, virtual reality (VR) multi user interactive worlds with Spielberg’s Starbright world for seriously ill children). Co-produced he first fully shot on mobile phone TV Series “Africa Diary” for the SUNDANCE Cable Channel, as well as facilitated investment funding, mergers and acquisitions for a wide range of companies and developed advanced advertising technology for which he was co-awarded five patents. McLennan, is a global speaker and an active member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (Emmy’s), the Producer Guild of America and SMPTE and holds an MBA in International Strategy/Economics
All told, he has been in the forefront of media and entertainment technology even during college years when he brought forth Sierra on-line games, Digital Micro Systems, worked on the Apple 2C launch, strategist on the launch of LEXUS Automobiles, with Ziff Davis/NYC publishing incubating technical magazines, as well as receiving a NIST grant in AI Bot development.
McLennan speaks on related topics worldwide extensively and participates aggressively as a competitive master skier, sailor, mtn bicyclist, member of MENSA and hop-along running races near his home in the San Francisco bay area.
